Website Build + Hosting + Maintenance
For Web Hosting there’s three different types; Shared, VPS (Virtual Private Server) & Dedicated (a whole server to yourself).
- Shared is cheap however is slow and prone to issues from your neighbours (if their site gets infected or compromised it can effect your site).
- Dedicated Server is expensive but you have a whole server to yourself so is very fast and you don’t have to worry about other people’s sites on the same server effecting yours.
- VPS is a middle ground you don’t get a dedicated server but you get dedicated resources and it’s securely separated from any other VPS’s on the same physical server.
You must also consider the physical location of the data centre, you want that to be in the same geographic region as your audience, data does take time to move from one place in the world to another, so the closer your Website Server is to your audience the quicker pages can load and respond.
Additionally not all service providers are created equally, some use old hardware and oversell their services to maximise profit, others have good services but their servers are physically located overseas.
Vultr Cloud Compute (VC2)
A high-performance website starts with good hardware, we use VULTR’s high performance compute instances to create a Virtual Private Server to host your website.
With the underlying infrastructure having 100% Intel CPU’s, 100% SSD storage and with a data centre physically located in Sydney, these servers have a base performance that most web hosts can’t compete with – we know, we’ve tried a lot of them in our search for the best hosting provider!
